Ingredients (6)

  • 8 lemons
  • 2L (8 cups) cold water
  • 220g (1 cup) caster sugar
  • 1 vanilla bean, split
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom seeds
  • Crushed ice, to serve

Method

  • Step 1 Cut lemons in half. Juice half the lemons. Place remaining lemons in a jug.
  • Step 2 Combine the lemon juice, water, sugar, vanilla bean and cardamom seeds in a saucepan and stir over low heat until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat.
  • Step 3 Pour the water mixture over the lemon halves in the jug. Cover and place in the fridge for 2 hours to chill.
  • Step 4 To serve, place crushed ice in serving glasses and pour over spiced lemonade.
